The Economic Costs of IP Infringement

Those who love jewellery or who engage in research on IPR infringement will certainly find interesting a recent OHIM report on the economic costs of infringing IPR in this sector. The report covers three main areas: manufacture of jewellery and related areas; manufacture of costume and fashion jewellery and related articles; and manufacture of watches and clocks. OHIM finds that counterfeiting in those areas costs not only loss of revenues but also thousands of job posts.
